Wirreanda on Wheatsheaf is a family, GP owned practice, which prides itself on excellent long term care of patients. We would love to add some more faces and experience to enrich our already wonderful team!
We are a teaching practice and usually enjoy teaching one to two registrars at any one time, with multiple qualified GP supervisors.
For independent practitioner GPs we are happy to discuss an attractive and competitive remuneration package as well as offering some assistance with relocation expenses.
For GP Registrars offer above the NTCER award and can provide some assistance with relocation expenses.
We offer flexible working arrangements to fit in with your life and other commitments. It is very important to us that our staff are supported to work around their other commitments and provide work-life balance. We encourage staff to take regular holidays and are conscious of the burn out experienced in the health sector, particularly in the last few years.

Testimonials:
Ananya (medical student 2023):
“It was a wonderful and valuable experience. Everyone was so kind and made me feel like a part of the practice”
Dr Matthew Crabb (currently working at Wirreanda):
“I found Wirreanda on Wheatsheaf to be a fantastic training practice. The staff were approachable, happy to accommodate my needs, eager to teach, and supportive during my transition from hospital RMO to GP Registrar. I enjoyed my time so much that I chose to return to the practice once I had completed by fellowship and have been with the practice now for close to 5 years. I can highly recommend this practice.”
Dr Clare Keogh (now a practice principal at Wirreanda):
“I was lucky enough to be placed at Wirreanda on Wheatsheaf for my GP1&2 terms in 2016. I felt very supported by my supervisor, Dr Michael Ludlow, and the whole practice team, including the excellent admin and nursing staff and the wonderful practice manager, Kerrie. I enjoyed my placement so much that I came back once I finished my fellowship! I am now one of the practice principals because I believe in a supportive workplace and felt I could work to my maximum potential with the team at Wirreanda. I believe in paying forward in terms of educating the doctors of the future and thoroughly enjoy teaching. I am now privileged to be able to teach medical students and GP registrars.”
