Fees & Payments

Wirreanda on Wheatsheaf Surgery is a private billing practice which requires payment in full at the time of consultation. At the discretion of the treating doctor, concession card holders may be bulk billed. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS.    We are linked to Medicare with Tyro and your refund can be transferred back into your account immediately.

 

Consultation costs vary depending on the length of time spent with the doctor, the complexity of your condition and any additional services required (procedures, vaccinations, excisions, dressings etc). A summary of our fees can be obtained by asking at reception.

Obtaining your Medicare Rebate

  1. Register your bank details (BSB & Account No) either with Medicare or us here, and the rebate will be deposited into your account within 2 working days.
  2. Swipe a cheque or savings account card at the time of billing and receive rebate straight away into your account.

Please note that full payment is required and medicare rebates directly to you.

Procedures

Please note that procedures (eg, biopsies, iron infusions, contraceptive implant insertion/ removal) will be charged at higher rates due to the costs and skills in providing these services.

The standard out of pocket fee of $150 on top the appropriate item number for full fee paying patients.

Special procedures, ie, IUD insertions and skin excisions will acquire different out of pocket fees. The details of these fees will be discussed at your appointment at the time of informed financial consent.

 

Reduced rates are available for concession card holders.

All billing is at the discretion of the consulting doctor.

 

Intrauterine device insertion (eg, Mirena, Copper IUD)

Dr Clare Keogh is trained in IUD insertions and is happy to see patients who are not regular patients of the practice for IUD insertions alone.

The process is:

1 – Assessment appointment (long appointment and charged as per usual fee structure)

2 – Insertion appointment (usually 45 minutes, full fee and concession fee options – please call for details)

3 – 6 week follow-up appointment (standard appointment, reduced fee)
